STRESSD

STRESSD Application,
Machine Learning,
UI & UX Design,
made by Joyce Korll

Everyone experiences stress from time to time. Poor sleep and lack of energy are symptoms of too much stress. STRESSD is a predictive and guiding ('nudging') interactive application built with JavaScript. The app predicts your stress level and provides several tips to manage stress better.

For this application, I chose data collected from a survey evaluating stress among Postgraduate University students in the UK. The survey asked the students about how stressed they felt at that moment, what the causes of the stress were and how they dealt with it. This collected data is used for the trained AI (Artificial Intelligence) to find patterns that can make the most reliable prediction possible (Machine Learning).

The application is aimed at students but can be used by anyone who experiences stress. To predict your stress level, you fill in a test that consists of six questions. For each question, you indicate to what extent this applies to you. With the prediction of your stress level, you will receive multiple tips and information that will allow you to choose which tip or exercise suits your situation.

Before creating the application, I first created a Persona, PACT model, and User Scenario to get a clear perspective of the user. In addition, I also designed a Wireframe of the User Interface to provide a trusted user experience (by applying AI heuristics). All these elements have been processed into an interactive predictive application that can guide the user ('nudge').
